Makeup Look
For this look I
wanted to do a very different avante garde look! For her eyes I used my morphe
12p palette. I used the yellow all over the eyes and used the orange for the
lower lash line. Then I applied the inglit gel liner to her lash line, created
a dramatic cat eye, then added a line from the cateye to her crease. To make
the look even more dramatic I added individual lashes to her bottom lash line.
Interview with Mary Sopha
Deon: How did you get into modeling?
Mary: I first got into modeling by chance. I had always imagined
what it would be like to model and if I were even capable of doing it. One day,
I was having lunch at a cafe and bumped into their mural artist. We struck up a
conversation about the art and discussed working on a body-paint shoot
together. Neither of us had had any prior experience except a vision and some
curiosity. I learned from that shoot that I wanted to continue to create images
and to channel my energy into expressing myself in different forms.
Deon: What’s your favorite thing about modeling?
Mary: I enjoy modeling because of the creative expressivity that
it enables. I love being able to collaborate with a team of artists to bring a
vision to life. I also enjoy seeing people smile so I am usually goofing around
on set. There is a lot of work that goes on behind-the-scenes in preparation
for a photo shoot. I am continually learning every day.
Deon: Are you with an agency, which one? If not, are you looking
for representation?
Mary: I am not currently with an agency, however, I am definitely
open to discussions and shooting projects that capture my interest.
Deon: Any upcoming projects or anything you’d like to tell people
about?
Mary: I do have a few projects in the works that I am excited to
share with everyone in the near future. Stay tuned!
Deon: What do you hope to gain out of your modeling career?
Mary: I aspire to positively impact people and spread more light
into our world by sharing my Self and my truths. I hope to spark the light that
is within each person and hope that it continues to spread. In doing so, I’m
starting with myself.
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I take that to
heart.
Deon: How fun was it shooting with us?
Mary: It is always a pleasure working with the both of you.
Alayza and I have done a few shoots together in the past and we are constantly
experimenting with different looks. I love it!
Deon: If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Mary: If I could have any superpower, I would definitely want to
be a healer. There is an immense amount of suffering and pain in this world but
there is also an incredible amount of Love and Light as well! Knowing that everyone
experiences suffering in their own way, inspires me to do what I can to free
people from their suffering -- to be kind to others, because even the smallest
act of kindness can feel like a breath of fresh air to someone who is
suffocating from their suffering.
Deon: If you could hang out with any person for a day past or
present who would it be?
Mary: Oh goodness. Haha. Call me a dork but I’d definitely want
to hang out with Nikola Tesla. He was such a humble and mad genius!
Deon: What advice would you give to aspiring models?
Mary: First and foremost, love yourself. Stay true to who you are
and surround yourself with individuals that challenge and uplift you. Stay
grounded and centered in your being. Be confident and know that you have
something special to offer because you are unique.
Deon: And where can people find you at? (Social Media)
